Feedback Madagascar - Ny Tanintsika provides support and training to communities and schools on the adoption of improved agricultural techniques, as well as capacity-building for village associations. We are currently developing a new programme to promote the conservation of Malagasy yams through their cultivation.

Why

Increasing agricultural yields and crop diversification are important for many reasons; to improve food security and family nutrition, to increase family income and to contribute to biodiversity conservation through eliminating the need for agricultural expansion into Madagascar's remaining rainforests.

Results

Increased adoption of vegetable-growing, improved rice-planting techniques, erosion-prevention measures and crop diversification (including some cash crops for income generation).
