Health Education Awareness
What
- Community trainings on reproductive health with our project fieldstaff, including medical and paramedical personnel.
- Training for community-based health educators, so that they can raise awareness on specific health issues within their villages. This includes training for salespeople on the explanation of the use of condoms and water-treatment products.
- Awareness-raising on hygiene and sanitation, the promotion of latrines and assistance with their construction.
Why
To lower high rates of sickness and mortality in rural areas; an improvement in health results in greater productivity and poverty reduction.
Results
Significant reductions in the incidence of infectious disease, such as diarrhoeal diseases and malaria, have been noted in villages targeted by this project.
