Supporter Stories
Here we have listed a selection of the wonderful fundraising activities that have been organised by our supporters. Have a look, get inspired and see what a fun time can be had whilst helping to make a change to the lives of the people of Madagascar. Remember, Feedback Madagascar is funded entirely by grants and donations and cannot do its work without you. Whatever amount you raise, large or small, your donation will change lives.
Wedding Giving
Jo Clarke and Will Downey decided to celebrate their blessing ceremony supporting the Malagasy people via our work here at Feedback Madagascar. In lieu of gifts they chose to raise funds for a well-drilling project to provide remote communities with clean water. Jo & Will raised £2,235.00 which with an additional £507.69 in Gift Aid* supplements came to generous £2,742.69. Their fundraising efforts were made simple by using our partners at www.justgiving.com
Rock for Madagascar
Ulla Jovkovich organised a Rock Concert on the Cote d'Azur- France, in aid of our projects in Madagascar. The venue was packed with people dancing to the sounds of the three local bands playing tunes for Madagascar. All of Ulla's hardwork paid off as she raised €1,200. You don't have to feel like you missed out on the fun they had, you can watch the highlights on this video.
Pilgrim Power!
Greg Franklin walked the medieval pilgrim route, the Camino de Santiago, across northern Spain - a mere 700km - in aid of our projects. He walked non-stop for 27 days battling blisters, mosquitoes and aching limbs. If you would like to see the stunning photos of this beautiful part of the world click here. He raised £340.00 which with an additional £70.51 in Gift Aid* supplements came to a total of £410.51.
Glazed and Fired for Feedback
Ceramic artist Zoë Cameron created a unique line of hand-crafted ceramic cups and tableware in aid of Feedback Madagascar. She sold the whole series of limited edition pieces and her handiwork raised £120 for our projects.
Students 4 Solar Power
The sixth form students of Gordano School chose to support Feedback Madagascar during their Charity Rag Week. They organised a whole host of fundraising events and activities to raise money for the Ikongo district hospital which was in need of electrical power. All their hard work and fun paid off as they managed to raise £2607.40 which helped equip the hospital with solar panels & much needed electricity provision. This advance will ensure that operations can be sustained during the day and after dark and will dramatically change the lives of the doctors, nurses and patients working and using the Centre.
Bridge Benefit
Hermione Spencer has hosted a number of charity Bridge lunch parties nominating Feedback Madagascar as her charity of choice. Whilst a fun time was had by all, the participants managed to find time amidst the bidding and winning of tricks, to raise substantial sums in support of our projects. The 2009 Bridge party raised £1,510 and the 2010 party raised £2,044. Making that a generous donation of £3,554 in total.
