Hermione Spencer, Chair

Hermione Spencer lived in Tanzania before starting a hand knitwear business in an area of high unemployment in Scotland, selling to top fashion houses in Paris, New York and Tokyo.  She was a director of Ardvreck School and is now an energetic fundraiser for Feedback Madagascar and founder trustee.

Hermione and her husband Hugh survived the Tsunami while sailing around the world. Since then, she has done voluntary work and fundraising for villages in Indonesia and Sri Lanka.

Hugh Spencer, Secretary

Hugh Spencer, one time soldier turned businessman. He has a wide experience of   commerce at home and abroad.  He was a director of the Paisley Chamber   of   Commerce as well as a variety of small companies.  He has recently   worked   with an international agency which advises clients on social and behavioural   procedures as well as business risks associated with working in countries with threatened security. Hugh is a founder trustee of Feedback Madagascar and key fundraiser.

Hazel Bloor, Administrator

Hazel Bloor has a background in community development and volunteering projects in the community /voluntary sector in London and the South-East, as well as involvement with human rights and environmental campaign groups during her studies at Sussex University.

Adam

Adam Boys, Treasurer

Adam Boys has worked for non-profit organisations in the former Yugoslavia since 1994. He is the Chief Operating Officer & Director of Finance for the International Commission on Missing Persons based in Sarajevo (www.ic-mp.org). He has an M.A. from Edinburgh University and is an Accredited Chartered Accountant (ACA) and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Born and brought up in Scotland, Adam misses the rain and deep fried Mars bars.

Zoe

Zoë Cameron, Administrator

An archaeologist with a background in teaching English, a love of travel, anthropology, art and photography. Spent 4 years digging in Ireland and is currently training on a 3D Design: Ceramics course at Bath Spa University.

Patricia

Patricia Davis, Administrator

Patricia is a founding member of C3 (www.c-3.org.uk). She has an MSc in Protected Area Management from James Cook University, Queensland, Australia and an MA (Zoology) from Oxford University, UK. In Palau, she has researched the endangered dugong, designed a Marine Tour Guide Certification and conducted Diver Impact studies. She has managed research expeditions to Fiji, Madagascar, Cambodia, Tanzania and Nicaragua.

Rory

Rory Day, Administrator

Rory Day is a communications expert and has been a keen supporter and trustee of Feedback Madagascar since it was founded. Born and brought up in Scotland, he has also lived and worked in Central and Eastern Europe and is now based in Amsterdam, where he runs a freelance network and online think-tank called The Communication Matrix (www.thecommunicationmatrix.net). He has a curious passion for sheds (www.shedheaven.com) and native american tipis (www.ardferntipis.co.uk).

Henriette Miers, Administrator

Henrietta Miers has spent over ten years working as a Social Development and Gender Consultant for governments, donors and NGOs in Asia and Africa, including a couple of trips to Madagascar. She has worked at the policy, programme and project levels, and within social development she has covered the sectors of rural livelihoods, health, education, transport, gender and civil society. Her special area of interest lies in contributing towards gender mainstreaming policy amongst donors and governments in the South. She is a Senior Associate of WISE Development (www.wisedevelopment.com). Henrietta presently lives in London, where she is expecting her first baby in November.

Rory

Will Self, Administrator

Will Self worked full time with FBM from 1996 to 2002 in Madagascar and the UK. He helped to expand the programmes and develop the capacity of FBM. Since then he has given support as necessary from the UK. He has a background in Natural Resources from Newcastle University and was a desk officer for Project Trust and an intern with the Aga Khan Foundation in Pakistan. He currently runs a rural development consultancy in Scotland where he has a small free range family.
